Four poems from MOLOK
All together in one post, because you on Substack like something you can get your teeth into, right?
Over in the Other Places, I’ve been posting pretty much daily with pieces from the new book, MOLOK. I don’t want to insult your attention spans here on Substack with such snack-sized posts, so I’m including the four most recent pieces in one post. The four pieces are:
Impatient saints
Things you should know
Here’s how we lie
Two universes (a spell-breaking poem)
I hope you like them. I didn’t want to write any of them.
It’s hard times here. I’m broke and stressed and trying to resolve a difficult housing crisis while keeping on doing the work. I’m behind schedule on all my projects (to be honest, that’s nothing new, but now I’m really behind.)
If any of these pieces reach a good place in you, consider pre-ordering MOLOK (it’s available on a sliding scale.) Pre-orders will get a special bonus in the book. You’ll like it. I hope you’re all doing well in the chaos and helping one another to resist the Devourer where you can. Mutual aid, extended kinship and the entangled life, forever.
Here are the poems. They’re more eloquent than I am here.
There. How was that?
If you pre-order MOLOK, you’ll be doing me a great favour. You can get it for as little as £6.25 or as much as £21.88 (+ shipping) - you choose. Everybody wins.
Keep on loving the burning world. And spread the word.
Greetings Tom from Victoria, BC, Canada. I just read aloud your latest 4 poems to my wife and sent them on to a few friends. As always, your writing brings into clear focus what is essential in our broken, desperate world. Love and decency and fellowship. Thank you for persisting in seeing below the surfaces to find our better selves or at least the potential which lies within. I don't know how to make any sense of this world either and I find both solace and anxiety in celebrating the small things which in fact are the most important things. Our attention to the world and those we love and care for in it. Whether they are intimates or strangers.
Especially loving the spell-breaker; thank you. 💫 I’m “Living in the Ruins” and ordered a copy; does that at least cover expenses? I also shared again to my followers on Mastodon (1,444 of them). 🤞🏼 Wish I could help more.
