On the East Coast of the US we're in a pretty deep winter - deeper than we've had for some time. 20" of snow, and arctic temperatures, so to see a glimmer of the light is definitely something I need. And I've been pretty good about embracing winter! Except when I can't get into the woods, but I made it in today. Anyway - thanks as always for all of your words and poetry. A good reminder about the poetry, as well.
Imbolc dawned today on the coast of Maine at -20 Celsius with blowing drifts of snow in my field. As I always tell my skeptical friends and neighbors on February 1, but look at the sun. It’s higher in the sky. It’s much stronger than it was a month ago. If you stand out of the wind and face the sun, you’ll feel its warmth. They remain skeptical.
